Our inaugural Honor Flight 5K For Flights is designed to be more than just a race; it is a moving tribute to the legacy of those who served. To bridge the gap between generations, this year we are honoring the Vietnam era through authentic visual details, starting with the race apparel. Each participant will receive a shirt featuring the iconic OD Green (Olive Drab) color palette, paired with the rugged, stenciled block lettering that defined the military aesthetic of the 1960s and 70s. By recreating this distinct look, we aim to evoke a sense of pride and nostalgia, ensuring that as our runners hit the pavement, they carry with them a visible reminder of the bravery and sacrifice of our Vietnam-era veterans. Next year and beyond, we will honor WWI, WWII, Korea, and Desert Shield/Storm with the coloring associated with those eras.
