Springfield, MO - Saturday, October 27, 2012, the Springfield Longboard Club hosted the Midwest Longboard Festival at the SLC Longboard Shop, at 302 E. McDaniel Street in Springfield. Over 100 Longboard riders were in attendance for this event. Following the 2 mile race, the was a Slide Jam and that evening a Costume Cruise.

Springfield, MO - Saturday, October 27, 2012 the Rotary Club of Springfield Southeast and Ronald McDonald House of the Ozarks hosted the Haunted Hustle 5K Run/Walk benefiting the Ronald McDonald House. Runners arrived as french maids, brides and bridesmaids, bunnies and the lead biker was a banana!

Nixa, MO - The Lights on After School 5K Run/Walk was held Friday, October 26, 2012 on the Cross Country Course at Inman Intermediate in Nixa. This was a first annual event and the Race Director and volunteers did a fabulous job! Before the start of the race, as runners were arriving OPAA was passing out protein bars, making fruit smoothies, plus much more. Each participant received a glow in the dark t-shirt and following the 5K, Mad Science activities were taking place inside the gym. All proceeds from this event benefited the Nixa XLT Scholarship fund.

Joplin, MO - Saturday, October 20, 2012, was the 30th Annual Pumpkin 5 Miler & 1 Mile Fun/Run Walk at McClelland Park. Proceeds from the event benified local children with special needs or disabilities through the United Way of Southwest Missouri.

Branson, MO - The Run for Hope 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run was held Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the Branson Landing. Money raised from this event went to two programs, the Backpack Club program, which provides supplemental food to hungry children to take home to eat on the weekends during the school year and the Christmas Share program which helps families who have fallen on hard times and is in need of assistance with electric, rent, propane, warm winter clothes and food.

Bolivar hosted the Central Ozark Conference Cross Country Meet on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 on the SBU Cross Country Course. Bolivar, Catholic, Rogersville, Buffalo, Reeds Spring, Marshfield, and Hollister athletes competed in this event.

Branson, MO - Saturday, October 6, 2012, was the Run for Your Life 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run along the trail behind Skaggs Orthopedic, Neurology & Spine Center. Runners and walkers experienced what seems to be the start of winter with temperatures in the 30's. Batman, Superman, Fairies, a Gorilla, a Fireman, the Thing, Pumpkins, plus many more interesting figures made an appearance at this event.
